DOS is a short form for Disk Operating System.It was originally Created by IBM and then sold to Microsoft & now we generally knows it as MS-DOS. Now days this become a very important part of our MS windows, we can easily done many task using DOS that even can't be accomplished today am going to tell you how can you copy output of any DOS command or any text of DOS Screen to a TXT file.There are two ways to do so.
How to copy DOS command output to TXT file ?
1st idea to copy output of DOS is using a pipe(|) operator followed by clip with your command.To use this simply add " | clip " after any command.If | is not available in your keyboard just use *.For eg:
dir | clip or dir * clip
this will simply copy the output of dir command to the clipboard,which further can be pasted in a txt or doc or any other file.
Note: Using this method you can copy only output of command.
Another method to copy the DOS screen is simply use GUI interface
- Right click on title bar of your DOS window.
- Choose Edt, then select all.
- To copy, again right click on Title bar,choose edit & copy.or simply hit enter(This will copy all selected area to clipboard).
- Now open TXT file just press Ctrl + V to paste.
- If You want to paste that text in cmd just right click on title bar of cmd and click paste under edit option.
- You can even Choose mark for marking some words whether selecting all.
